Ultrasonic Calibration Block V2

Calibration block V2 is intended for calibratio of  ultrasonic flaw detectors  during ultrasonic testing of welded joints quality and corresponds to DSTU 4002-2000 (ISO 2400, DIN 54120, B. S. 2704).

Calibration block V2 allows to:

  • Calibrate the flaw detector sweep by sound velocity during operation with straight-beam probes;
  • calibrate the flaw detector sweep by sound velocity during operation with angle-beam probes;
  • set the conditionall sensitivity level of ultrasonic flaw detectors with straight- and angle-beam probes;
  • determine the sound waves index point and x-value of angle-beam probes;
  • determine the probe angle of sound waves in steel.

Specifications

  • Longitudinal  waves sound velocity in the calibration block material at frequency 5.0 MHz and temperature (20±5) 0 С equals (5920±30) m/s.
  • Shear waves sound velocity in the block material at a frequency 5.0 MHz and  temperature (20±5) 0 С equals (3255±15) m/s.
  • Calibration block geometrical dimensions correspond to DSTU 4002-2000 (ISO 2400, DIN 54120, B. S. 2704).
